Trouble connecting Vgate vLinker MS OBD dongle

I can't find find any reference to the vLinker MS on the forums, has anyone got one to work with HLT?
HLT connects and it shows green as a vLinker FS but with the unexpected update rate warning dialogue. No data seems to be transmitted. The MS claims to be the fastest bluetooth OBD-II adapter in the world but not so far for me!
The dongle works fine with other apps like Multi ECU scan.

This is a problem with bus communication. From the dialog above we see the adapter is recognized and LapTimer is able to exchange AT commands successfully. What doesn't work is adapter / car communication. This is usually an issue with automatic bus protocol detection LapTimer uses by default. Instead of probing all possible protocols, it asks the adapter to decide on its own. This does not work for your car.
Workaround:
- elaborate the protocol available for your car: check the Multi ECU scan app for the protocol used
- navigate to LapTimer ‣ Administration ‣ Settings ‣ Expert Settings ‣ OBD Tweaks ‣ Default Protocol and select the protocol you found in the Multi ECU app
- unplug / replug the adapter to restart communication
This is a one time action. NB: many OBD apps keep the connection to the adapter even when sent to background. In case you run such an app, it will block communication for other apps (like LapTimer). Make sure you kill these apps in case you started one after the last reboot.

Thanks Harry,
I found that ISO 15765-4 CAN (29 bit ID, 500kbps) works, so all is well.
Thanks again.
