Import OBD data from a gs-911 (BMW Bike)

Hi

I understand, that I can import OBD-data from an external source. Is this correct?

Since BMW in some ways is like apple (reducing the contacts to the outside world to a minimum), I'm having a bit difficulties to get 1. the OBD-data and 2. to put it "into" the Laptimer.

Does anyone have any experience using a gs-911-device (http://www.gs911.de/) with Harry's Laptimer? I'm grateful for some tips ...

The GS911 is not compatible as it cannot be connected to LapTimer (no wifi or Mfi BT). However, it seem you can connect any OBD II dongle compatible with LapTimer (see www.gps-laptimer.de/Compatibility.html) but need to use an adapter like the one linked below to connect to BMW's plug. I'm pretty sure the GS911 can read out a lot more data (BMW specific) than the LT compatible ones. LapTimer on the other hand would not use this data anyway as it sticks to those informations available on all OBD II vehicles.

Hope that helps, Harry

Thanks for your quick answer! It helps, but in a way it doesn't. Because it's a bike, I need an adapter with 10 pins, not 20. And I just can't find this kind of adapter

by the way, I'm driving the same bike like in this thread http://www.gps-laptimer-forum.de/viewto ... f=20&t=222, so I guess it won't be working, even with the right cable. Does the newest Laptimer version still require an VIN?
