Android 13 issues? Upgrade to GP edition and external BT connections
Hi Harry
I have the new Samsung S23 Ultra with Android 13.
I have some issues:
- cannot upgrade on the grand prix edition -> remains in petrolhead edition - cannot connect to any external bluetooth devices (GPS, OBD) [I tried the expert setting Force Insecure BT Connection] Doesn't it work for android 13 at all?
Cheers

Re: Android 13 issues? Upgrade to GP edition and external BT connections
I have not tested Android 13 yet. The reason for these messages are:
1) Add-ons: this means LapTimer can't access PlayStore with the ID configured currently. Please start PlayStore and make sure you are logged in.
2) Bluetooth: this means Android does not allow LapTimer to access Bluetooth. Please check permissions in Settings app.

Thanks for the quick answer!
1) Add-ons: this means LapTimer can't access PlayStore with the ID configured currently. Please start PlayStore and make sure you are logged in.
Device is permanently connected (logged in) to the Play Store...
2) Bluetooth: this means Android does not allow LapTimer to access Bluetooth. Please check permissions in Settings app.
I tried also giving the HLT app all permissions. Doesn't work. There is no specific BT permission anyway.

Update: First issue with the Upgrade to GP version is solved. I opened explicitly the Play Store and then HLT got the connection
Re: Android 13 issues? Upgrade to GP edition and external BT connections
O.k. I will update one of my test devices to 13 and check if I can reproduce the problem. I'll come back.
Re: Android 13 issues? Upgrade to GP edition and external BT connections
P.S. Which BT sensor do you use?
Re: Android 13 issues? Upgrade to GP edition and external BT connections
When I tap on "Add BT device" the app crashes:
Re: Android 13 issues? Upgrade to GP edition and external BT connections
This is to add paired BT SPP devices. The crash will be related to the problem with permissions. Should not happen, but probably a code path never used before 13...
Please send information on the BT LE device you tried to connect.

Yes I paired my two BT devices first and then I wanted to add them. Did work without any problem on my old Smartphone.
I use these two devices:
OBD -> OBDLink MX BT
GPS Logger -> Qstarz BT-Q1000eX (10Hz)
