The Mini is working with both Android and iOS currently. The Mini S is supported by Android. iOS will follow shortly.

With the newest version 24.8.2 on iOS, I’m having some issues with the new RaceBox Mini S. Looks like the data rate is still mostly 1Hz and occasionally record at true 25Hz.

On a manually timed 40 sec data, I’m only getting 461 fixes

With my old 10hz gps in comparison, this doesn’t seem to be an issue. I’m getting pretty much all the fixes at 10Hz.

This looks like the Mini disconnects from time to time. In situations like this, LapTimer will fall back to the internal sensor. As a result you will find a number of fixes anywhere between 1 and 25 Hz - depending on connection times. Please start with testing the connection: start LapTimer and let it connect to the Mini. Make sure it is getting to 25 Hz. Let it go for 15 minutes with LapTimer active. Goto Administration ‣ Sensor List and tap the Mini. Sensor details will show the number of connects that occurred. Should be 1 or 2 for 15 minutes.

Harry: should one tweak either the GPS storage rate or accelerator update rates in advanced settings when using the Mini? For me the former is at "GPS rate" and the latter at 10hz. In particular I noticed the latter says 3x the storage rate as a rule of thumb, which would be 75Hz.

Keep GPS rate but raise IMU a bit. 30 Hz should be the default but you raise it to 50 here.

I'm continuing to have issues with it using the Mini throughout a session. It will regularly drop it and go back to the internal phone GPS. I disabled the phones pairing to the car to rule that out and no other devices are connected. I am using a Galaxy S10e on android 12. Any ideas?

Also, Bluetooth LE scan mode is at balanced. I can't remember if that's the default.

With the Mini connected, goto Sensor List and bring up Sensor Details. Which script version number is shown?

Hi Harry , I have an android headunit in the car that I’m hoping to use lap timer with in conjunction with the racebox mini for external GPS and IMU. Unfortunately a lot of the android headunits don’t have an internal IMU - if no internal accelerometer is detected will it ignore the external imu or take it into account ?

Access to the Racebox Mini IMU is not supported.
