Locked down I saw a fantastic feature of GranTurismo 6 - GPS visualiser. It basically takes data collected by Toyota Sports Drive Logger or Nissan Connect NISMO Plus and allows to convert it to a ghost to race against in the simulator. The tracks where this works are not very numerous, but various Nurburgring configurations seem to be included for the Nissan version. I imagine the feature would also feature in the upcoming GT7 game.

It would be great to be able to export HLT data to a NISMO Plus format and race against real-life personal best lap...

I visited this back in GT3 or 4 - quite some time ago. At this point in time I had no luck finding the data format required. This has been (and probably is) something proprietary. In case someone can provide me with a format description, I'm happy to provide an export option.
