If i want to use Dashware, I can import the movie but in step 2 need to import the gps/speed data. On my GoPro the information is stored in the movie file itself so I can import the movie file. But if I use Laptimer with my GoPro and want the proper overlay, where is the lapdata stored?

Export your lap's data to CSV. In Dashware, you can map the individual columns included to gauges.
