Android hardware overlay - any update

Are there new Android phones that will do hardware processing of overlay? (Last post I saw was 2015)
Hardware accelerated overlaying is available for all Android 5.1 and later devices. There are compatibility issues from time to time, but it will work for most. Speed increase is not up to iOS level (Android's support for video manipulation is still limited from my point of view), but it is a lot faster than the software based approach.
