Exported video quality not good as source

Hi,
I used PIP overlay function in LapTimer 20.0.14, front video is imported from GitUp2 at and rear video from a Soocoo S20W, both at 1920x1080, quality of sources is good but overlay video is not so good, at least in my opinion, take a look at asphalt and clouds in full screen to see differences in colors and artifacts.

Export video quality is at maximum (untouched default), what do you think about result? Could it be better?

Forgot to mention that I didn't force software encoding on my lollipop, so I used hardware encoding.

When using hardware accelerated encoding, LapTimer does not influence quality beyond setting usual standards for H.264 / AAC videos. So the quality setting in Expert Settings has no influence and a lot depends on the manufacturer's choices for the encoder used. Without having looked into your video, you may try to Force Software Encoding and try the same video to check if this is producing better quality.

Tried with sw encoding of just 1 lap and quality difference is incredible, file size is higher obviously. I attached Mediainfo output for both files to let you take a look in tech specs. Really sorry if nothing can be done to have better results with hw encoder, because sw encoder is so slow.

The software version used MPEG4/2 encoding - which is by far less space optimized (at the same quality as H.264).
The bitrate applied by the Xiaomi is a bit more aggressive than set (LapTimer sets 8Mbit/s for FullHD videos) and uses 7.2Mbit/s. I will consider adding a bitrate multiplier as an Expert Settings for version 20.1, please watch the release notes for new versions appearing.
