Overlay gear question

Post by yertle »

I used the video feature of LapTimer for the first time this weekend. The OBD options are None/Standard/Extended, and I chose Standard (I didn't like the fuel gauge). In the lower right is an indication of which gear I'm in - does that come from the OBD setting or a different checkbox? The gear is wrong, likely because I did not have my gear ratios setup for my car. So I entered the ratios and re-exported the video, but it did not change. Is the data embedded in the lap and not changeable at this point in time? Is there any way to turn off that entire gauge in the overlayed video?

Gears are calculated on the fly using tire size, gear and drive ratios, rpm, and wheel speed. This means you should be able to fix this using the correct car settings. Please recheck the named parameters. There is no need to run the overlay by the way. Press the Play button below the video preview in Lap Details and LapTimer will display the overlay in real time.
