Want external cam overlay, but not enough Iphone internal space

Hello Harry,

I recently bought a GoPro Hero 4 Session to replace my iphone for track use/video recording. I have had no problems with connecting via wi-fi/cam operation or anything related to that. My problem is when after the track day when I go to externally import the gopro footage into laptimer (faster than wifi within the app), I don't have sufficient space on my iphone to support a 20 minute session at 1080p 60fps and no way would I able to import 2 hours of footage from a track day. My dilemma is that I want the track data overlay for my gopro footage, but my iphone simply doesn't have the storage capacity. Is there any other method of being able to have the overlay and data other than importing the external cam footage to the iphone? I wish I got a 64GB but sadly that isn't the case :(

Thank you!

I'm not aware of an option. The only hint I can give is to disable LapTimer's access to Photo library. The effect is, that the overlaid video (this space is still required) is not copied over to the Photo app. During the copy, the size of the overlaid video is required in top. Sample:

Original video: 4 GB
Overlaid video: 2 GB (subset of laps)

Space requirements before overlay: 4 GB
Space requirements during overlay: 4 GB + 2 GB + 2GB (*)
Space requirements after overlay: 4 GB + 2 GB

Without access to Photo library, you will get a warning, but (*) is oct required.

Other alternatives (besides exchanging the phone): 1) create shorter videos and overlay them one by one 2) cut session videos to laps you really want to overlay before transferring footage to the smartphone. 3) Use 30 fps instead of 60 fps.
