Using the assistant.

Harry,
can you clarify using the Assistant for me. Cannot find instructions in any of the files or forum. (They may be there, but my search skills are rubbish!)
In Assistant Mode.
1. Define User.
2. Load track set. Purge any confilicting POI's if necessary.
3. Start driving.
The point I'm confused with at the moment is finishing. If I pull off the track, does HLT wait for a while to see if the stop/start POI is passed, if it's not passed by a certain amount of time, assumes you have finished, alternatively recognises that there is no movement, and deletes all of the stored POI info back to the last time the Start/Stop was passed. I assume I do not need to stop the recording manually.
How long does HLT wait before it realises that you have left the track and stops recording?

Hi,

When you leave a track (e.g. going back to the pits), LapTimer will typically have a automatically started lap running. It is not finished as you did not pass the finish line. You need to help LapTimer here and press the 'Cancel' button that shows up in any of the timer views when LapTimer is lapping automatically (e.g. Timer or Racer's or Classic or Speedo).

In case you want to automate this, you may define a Cancel trigger near the exit of the track area. This does the cancelation for you. Cancel triggers are defined as any other trigger, it is shows as a red flag in LapTimer's maps. I'd suggest to start with manual Cancel as it should be straight forward sitting in front of LT on track.

Fine. Please keep in mind there is a difference between 'manual stop' and 'cancel'. A manual stop is only available if timing has been started manually. Cancel is available only when timing has been started automatically. Manual stop will store the result in the lap list, 'Cancel' will simply abandon the current timing and not store anything.
