Hi Harry's

I did some tests the new feature on the V20, the video recording with only external cam ! What a good new

But for the moment it is not a sucess for me

I have differents problemes :

* the hero3+ is not always detected by the app why ?
When it is detected it take long long time.

* when camera is detected, recording seems be ok, but if i exit the app, gopro is shutting down (i think that is normal) but the wifi on gopro is also shutdown ;(
I need to power-on camera and power on wifi too manually
for re-using video recording with HLT. (if it decided to be connected ;( )


Either there is a bug, either I did not understand how to use the gopro

I will check that tomorrow. I ran extensive test with my HERO3 (not 3+) - including the stop lap scenario. And WiFi should actually never be turned off from remote (didn't even know this is possible).

I am not sure wifi become deactivated ...but camera seems to be "buged" after shutting down by HLT.

Blue WIFI led doesnt blinking...

If i push wifi button, the led screen " wifi gopro app" appear and desappear. Led stay power off.

So i need to power ON manually camera, and after "re"activate wifi.

As if the shutting down was not done in the right way by HLT.

I done others tests,but it is very dificult to have the gopro connected via HLT, but no probleme with GOPRO APP.

For your infomation : WIKO RIDGE 4G, ANDROID 5.0.2

Please make sure to kill the GoPro app when using LapTimer. It is well possible it controls the cam in parallel - which is no healthy mode.

this may be assumed but are you on the latest GoPro firmware?

I had issues updating mine caused by exFAT formatted card. Dug out an old 4GB fat32 card and firmware loaded clean.

Firmware v03.00. I haven't updated it for some time. Maybe some change on this side. Please give some time to allow me to update and test this again. For all major releases I'm typically heads down on crash issues.

My Hero 3+ black is on last firmware, 3.03.

I try again, but camera is connected 1/20 times.
I kill gopro app, but it is the same.

I try to reboot my phone, et directly open HLT and it is the same.

When i lunch GOPRO app, it is directly connected. So WIFI is good.
My wifi phone status : connected to GOPRO, signal excelent , 72mbps and 2.4ghz
I am sure of my gopro password on HLT, because sometimes camera is connected...

I send you 2 mails with log trace (Multicam + Multicam Connection + External Cam)

The latest firmware for the Hero3 White is 3.01. I updated successfully, but the display when turned on still says 3.00, not that it matters all that much as long as the camera works.
