New video each lap?

I recently bought the Gopro 4 Silver and I am curious when used in multi cam with the app does it record one video for the whole session or does it break each lap into a new video? I am curious because I think 1 video for the whole session probable wouldn't upload to the phone when it comes time to do the overlay.

Thank you

It is one video per session - just like for the internal cam. LapTimer started a new video each lap in old times - this however made you (at least) loose some seconds of footage each lap.

Handling session videos can be cumbersome, true. Especially when the HERO starts splitting vids each 4GB (requiring you to join them manually on a PC). File size is an issue when downloading videos wirelessly, but using a wired copy is a good workaround. Check the video documentation for this.

Thank you, yea I read through all the docs. Was just curious. Do you know if I can edit the file in Gopro Studio once I do the overlay? I remember trying to use their software to edit a video from my Ghost Dift and got an error stating it wasn't a gopro product. I don't know if they updated gopro studio since then so you can use any camera or if it reads something on the file. I am curious if after the overlay is added to the gopro if it changes it so gopro studio won't allow me to edit it.

BTW I wrote a big sales pitch for your app on my Evo Facebook forum. It has a ton of people on it so hopefully some will get your app.

Thank you

Thanks for your support, word of mouth is extremely valuable. :-)

I can't answer the GoPro studio question. LapTimer generates a standard H.264/AAC encoded video for iOS and a MPEG2/AAC encoded video for Android. Both should be supported be versatile video editors.

No problem. And thank you for making me spend about 600$ just before xmas to optimize HLT!

At least we have track days sat and sun dec 26 and 27 so I get to test everything.
