Problems with External GPS Dual XGPS150A disconnecting

My last 2 times out at the track, I've had what seems to be an issue with my external gps "disconnecting" from HLT mid-session, or sometime after starting with everything green.

I'm using an LG G4, with the aforementioned external GPS. I've already updated the firmware for the GPS, and this has not fixed my issue. I'll try to describe the sequence of events below, as best as I can remember them.

After a period of time, I get a “red” status for ”GPS Update Rate”
External GPS device itself shows bluetooth connection and GPS lock.
GPS Status view shows “0 Hz”
Then drops to internal GPS, but still gives a “GPS Update Rate” red error

Seems to be dropping the bluetooth connection?

Turned bluetooth off and then on again, then back out of “race” and go back into “race”, it appears to pick the external GPS up again.

I've replicated this just sitting at my desk........get the GPS connected, everything's "green" and when I just let it sit, after a period of time I get these errors.

This results in not having valid data for a large portion of my session.

Any ideas? Thanks!

There have been some issues with crashing Bluetooth stacks for Android devices after introducing Bluetooth Low Energy two releases ago. Turning BT off and on again restarts the stack. For the latest version (19.0.29), BT LE is disabled by default (Expert Setting). Oddly, Android's BT stacks are as buggy as all other stacks are...

Anyway, in case your problem is related to this item, it should be gone now.

Other potential issue: problem with the 150, disturbing other BT devices in your car, low battery situations...

I have a very similar problem but with configuration iphone 6 and XGPS 160. . Recently I've notice that the GPS device not works correctly:
a) Quite frequently I get a “red” status for ”GPS Update Rate”. External GPS device itself and Iphone show bluetooth connection and GPS lock. To reconnect and to get green icon again I have to close HLT altoghether and start again.
b) it happens that XGPS swiches to 1 Hz frequency still remaining external despite the fact that at the moment of start it was on 10Hz and green icon. c) c) finally, when I open kml files in Google Earth driving line is unprecise and frequently boyond the track which is not my everyday driving routine. On the same day and track my buddy using a standard iphone internal GPS gets correct driving line. The other day and the other buddy; he uses also iphone 6 and XGPS but a previous one, 150, and gets everything in order while my analysis show that my XGPS 160 worked durnig the majority of sessions on 1Hz. After having read many posts on the forum I still I do not know what to do except for appealing to the last instance. Best regards

Very difficult to comment on from the distance. In case LapTimer shows 1 Hz, it is almost sure the iPhone / XGPS160 connection dropped and LapTimer used the internal GPS.
