This is similar to another thread, but not exactly the same. In short, I'm just not getting consistent results starting my Gopro camera recording from within Laptimer. In particular, at my last two sessions the camera didn't record at all. I'm getting the message on the video screen within Laptimer that the camera will start recording when I cross the start/finish line (the start and finish line at my track are one and the same), but in my last two sessions, nothing recorded. Previously, Laptimer seemed to revert to my device's (an ipad Mini in my case) internal camera, and took videos of the front of my dash where the Mini is mounted, rather than turning on the Gopro. But these last two sessions, there was no video recording of any kind.

Here are my settings under Multicam Control within Laptimer:

Discover MulitCams: On
MultiCam Preset: Master. When I select "Master", there is a check mark next to "Maximum Resolution (Master)"
External Cam: Hero4

I always make sure my Gopro camera is turned on, of course, that it's in wifi mode (confirmed by the flashing blue light), and that the ipad and the Gopro are communicating via wifi. What am I doing wrong?

Also, once I get this issue resolved, what's the best way to transfer the captured video of my session from the Gopro to the ipad, so I can replay my session, hopefully overlayed with the data recording (although I suppose that's yet another hurdle to cross), on my ipad after I've finished the session? The HERO4 comes with a hidden power saving mode which can generate issues. As long as the connection is established already (see green and blue bubbles blinking in the cam icon in the status bar), it should stay connected and on. But if e.g. video mode is turned off a few minutes and turned on again afterwards, the cam is not necessarily active any more. The mode is "hidden" in that the cam will still report an active WiFi when it is already turned off. I plan to add some BT LE tweaks for LapTimer v20 to force it to stay on. This connection issue results in the internal cam recording and the external not.

In case both internal and external cam do not record, there is either a resource conflict or other issue with the internal cam (e.g. another app locking the cam and not unlocking it when deactivated), or video mode has simply not been engaged. In case you have no data recordings either, please check you have a valid track set loaded and great GPS reception. Please check the K-index in GPS View to understand if there are general GPS issues on a particular day.
