Black screen on iPod Touch (5th gen)

After upgrading to the latest HLT version (19.0.24) on my 5th gen iPod Touch running iOS9.1, I cannot get into the app. When I open the app, I can only see the first splash screen (one with checkered flag background). Then, the whole screen goes back. I tried waiting for ~5 mins and it stayed that way. Killing the app and restarting the iPod Touch didn't help. There are 28GB left on the iPod, so it is not a storage space issue, neither. Any one seeing the same issue? Any suggestion to fix?

Thanks!

Oddly, I do not have a late iPod touch available for testing. So I can't say if there is some general issue or if a reset would work. Please wait with the later until someone has confirmed .24 starts up on an iPod touch 5th gen.

I am having the same exact problem. Oddly, it was working fine and then I tried to transfer some laps to another one of my devices. When I picked the iPod up afterwards, it was on a black screen. Resetting the device didn't fix it. I don't want to delete the app and reinstall because I have laps I haven't transferred. Like the OP, I have plenty of memory on the device available (More than 20G). My next track day is 7 days away - I hope there is a fix by then!

In case you have another device available, you may transfer the .pdb files directly. Please read the thread viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2626 It discusses how to make an automatic backup the current database. You the same pattern to copy the active databases from your iPod touch to the desktop and to another iOS device afterwards.

I have no option to debug this problem for iPod 5th gen devices, bug fix releases take a week from Apple's side, work on my side needs to be added. I see no option to get a fix out in 7 days.

Just some more info, in case it somehow helps.... I was not on iOS 9.1 when the problem started. I upgraded to 9.1 hoping it would fix it and it didn't. I deleted Harry's and re-installed and didn't see a change. Still a black screen of death. I did not uninstall multicam but will if that MIGHT be related. I didn't power down in between the delete and new install - may try that next. OK - tried deleting both apps, restarting the device, and only adding back Grand Prix. Still crashing. Logged out of iCloud just in case that was related - it wasn't.

As a side note, I did manage to get my laps off of the device and put them on one of my other ones so that is good - thanks for that!

The multi-cam app also goes from splash screen to black screen, just like the Grand Prix

Using the iPod? That's actually expected, all the apps share the same code base.

Update: I invested in an iPod touch test device :-(
With LapTimer's current production version, it shows the black screen as reported.
It is a 6th gen device, so it seems to be no issue with the 32/64 bit system but a more general issue.

That's just to let you know I am working on it. ;-)
Please plan some time, besides fixing the issue, I need to get it through the review process on top.

In case I find a workaround for the LapTimer v19.0.24 production version, I'll let you know too.
