I am going to Brainerd International Raceway this weekend. We are going to be running the LONG and the SHORT versions of the track the same day.
I was trying to load both tracks over WiFi before I go because I don't have data service on this phone dedicated to the LapTimer.

When I load the LONG track, it recommends I "Purge" the POIs for the SHORT track. Do I have to download the SHORT track again before using it ?

You can't load both at a time, they are overlapping and come with different start/finish lines. So you really need to switch on site. It is probably easiest to teaser from a friends phone on site if you really cannot make data services available. The only alternative is to load the tracks one by one now, do some tweak (so change them vom certified to a user track set), Certify the "changed" track set but send it to yourself instead of Tracks@gps-laptimer.de. Later, you can open this mails, touch the .hpoil attachment, and switch locally.

OK, I can connect to the hotspot on my other phone. I just wanted to know what to do because there is little time in the schedule for switching from one track to the other.

Do tracks have to be loaded to later apply the overlay to the video ? or is the saved overlay data independent of the Track load.

To switch, you simple load the new track set and let LapTimer purge the other. Lap data is kept, it is just about the trigger definitions being removed temporarily. To get nice corner / bend and split name inserts, it is recommended to have the track set loaded when overlaying (especially if they include this corner definitions).

Great, and thanks for the amazing software development effort you have put into LapTimer. Many large market phone apps are not as rich and complex to develop as LapTimer.
