trying the multi-lap overlay
trying the multi-lap overlay
I am new to Lap Timer. I installed the petrohead app to my Samsung Galaxy S5 version 19.0.15. I recorded 2 laps around Texas Motor Speedway. The complete video is showing up on the first lap. I press the overlay button to access the overlay configuration option. Only lap 1 is showing available to overlay. I have not been able to figure out how to get lap 2 available so I can multi-lap the entire video. Hope the problem is just a rookie mistake. Thanks
Re: trying the multi-lap overlay
When selecting lap #2 you should see the same original session video. In case you don't LapTimer misses the information the second lap is covered by the session video too.

Re: trying the multi-lap overlay
When looking at lap #2, there is no video option to look at like there is in lap #1. The problem might be that my cellphone stopped recording just before I finished my run because it was overheating. I can look at the raw video which is 04:06.7 seconds long. In the lap list, I can look at the telematic data for both laps, both lap #1 is the only lap with the video overlay available. There must be some way that I can manually overlay the lap #2 data to the video, I just not have figured out how to do it.

To add the video to lap 2, it needs to cover its end. So please open the video from Video List and scroll to the bottom. You will see the reference of lap one with an offset within the video. Add the second lap's lap time and verify the resulting offset is still within the video's overall duration. Sample: lap #1 is 2 minutes long and the end has an offset within the video at 2 minutes too. Lap #2 is 2 minutes long too. The video is 5 minutes long -> you are fine because 2+2 is smaller than 5. The video is 3 minutes long -> not possible to overlay lap #2 because the end is not covered by the video.
In case the video is long enough, memorize lap #1 offset plus lap #2 duration. Open lap #2 from Lap List and press the +VIDEO icon on the top right. Select the session video and select the memorized time as lap #2's sync point. Return and overlay.

Re: trying the multi-lap overlay
Thanks for you help. I finally good everything to work and synced up. The raw video went for 2 and one half laps before the cellphone shut off due to overheating, therefore the app did not save any info for the third lap. Once I was able to verify the actual end of the 2nd lap, I was able to get the overlay to work and sync up for the 2 laps.
