Video Flicker

Post by fencingdude101 »

Using Grand Prix on Android:

I rendered out a recent track day session using my phone plus two GoPro footage feeds. The two secondary feeds (In the top right hand corner) flashed randomly throughout the video. Sometimes they stopped for a bit, and sometimes only one or the other flashed. At first I thought it was because of framerate issues, but I rerendered my phone footage to be at 60fps and the GoPro videos were already at 60fps- the issue persisted. I've created multiple videos using the LapTimer previously without this issue- any ideas?

Here's a video for reference:

Yes, something's wrong. Due to the flickering I couldn't recognize if the video is in good shape at all or misses frames. Have you tested the overlay without PiPs? I ask because the flickering can be the result of an underlying problem with master video timestamps. To debug this, I will need access to the video files (all three) plus a lap export to .hlptrl :-(

I'm going to chock this up to an "abnormal occurrence". It's worked great in the past, and I don't want to make you go through all that trouble. If it happens again we can look into it further, but until then, I'll just pay extra attention and make sure everything's working correctly next time. Next track day is the 11th, so we'll see. :)

Thanks Harry!
