Hello Harry,

this weekend, I recorded a Nordschleife BTG lap in video mode (HLT Android Petrolhead). Unfortunately, the Gantry trigger was missed and failed to stop laptime and video recording. During roll-out, I pressed the "white X" button on the video screen to stop the recording manually. It seems that this has been the wrong action that I took. I have the video of the lap on my phone, but the lap does not appear in lap screen of HLT. Unnecessary to say that this has been my fastest lap ever ...

My questions:
1.) Is there any chance to recover my lapdata from the internals of HLT, or will it be lost for ever?
2.) What would have been the correct way to stop the video recording after the trigger failed?

Laps started automatically need to be stopped automatically too. The only option one has for an "open" lap is canceling it. Canceling purges the lap (usually the cool down lap) and stops video recording.

So the answers are 1) no, this data has been deleted. 2) there is no way other way than canceling it.

The background is, LapTimer takes care laps recorded with a certified track set are reported (to hall of fame) only in case they are sound. It is to work around cheating

I plan to add an option to stop incomplete laps in a future release. This laps will be marked as incomplete and stored in a separate category.

For your fastest lap it should be possible to derive the lap time from the video. An overlay is not possible.

In case you experience missed laps frequently (for GPS systems this will happen intermittent), please check your mounting position. In case it is optimal (centered in the front screen, max to the front), you may consider increasing the wide detection corridor in LapTimer's Expert Settings.
