Splitting Lap into Multiple Laps
Hi,
Used the app for the first time at Castle Combe in the UK yesterday. I used the map available in the track download area. However, it has for some reason captured 3 laps but 2 are a combination of multiple laps.
So, I have 1 lap that is genuinely a single lap, 1 lap that is 4 laps and 1 lap that is 2 laps. How can I split these combined laps into separate laps?
Regards,
Steven Smith

Yes. Select the multi-lap from Lap List. Press Recalculate and select "Verify Lap". When asked, select "Wide" and check what happens. In case you get the same result, please increase the detection corridor for the Wide Corridor to e.g. 50 meters in LapTimer -> Administration -> Settings -> Expert Settings. Once the lap has been split successfully, please reset the Expert Setting to the default.
Multiple laps are usually a strong indicator for bad GPS reception. Please check your mounting position for the next drive.

I have this a go, and even tried wide set at 100 and it's not corrected it. Though I can clearly see all the lines when viewing the data recording map. It is telling me that the session recorded 3 complete laps and 3 incomplete laps though.

Have you loaded the track set? If yes, there is something unexpected. As I do not get your second sentence, it is probably best to select the multi lap from Lap List, export it to .hlptrl and send it to me (Harry@gps-laptimer.de). I will check and give you the settings to apply.

Hi,
Received the laps and could split them using the standard track set and with all settings (corridor) using the default. Here is the result - which looks o.k. The first split into 4, the last into 2 laps. Deleted the multi lap recordings afterwards.
Please try again and make sure you select "Verify Lap" from the Recalculate popup.

Re: Splitting Lap into Multiple Laps
Hi,
Just for full evaluation. I tried deleting and importing the laps, this didn't work. However, deleted the app and reinstalled, then imported and it worked brilliantly.
I am now having an issue with overlaying the lap data on the video, which I had to import to the app as it got deleted. It's the original video though as I had backed up previously.
Any idea why? I keep getting Error 17. I am using Android KitKat, on an Asus PadFone A86.

This means the video library is not able to decode the video. You may try to re-encode it using ffmpeg or a similar tool. Sounds like a video compatibility issue-which is strange. Decoding has never been a problem so far...

Re: Splitting Lap into Multiple Laps
Funny, I hit this same situation today we were running a car in a local endurance race with four separate drivers, so we just set a spare phone up with Harry's started it up in the morning and ran, now I wanted to look at the traces it Circuit tools to see if we could see anything interesting, and It apparently can't handle the VBO file as it's too large (160 laps) so I went back to harry's to see if I could figure out how to split the sessions out per driver and only output each session instead of the day, and couldn't figure out how to do it, did a quick search and found my post from 7 years ago. Guessing you still can't do this.
Re: Splitting Lap into Multiple Laps
You can export a session by selecting a lap’s session scope. Select any lap of a session from Lap List first. Selext the share icon in the bottom or connect menu. Select Session as the scope and VBO as type. This will export the lap plus all other laps in this session.
