exporting select track/days/sessions

Post by tomekplewa »

I have a couple of sessions recorded over two days last weekend. I would like to export them for external processing. However, when I attempt Transfer -> Export Lap Data and apply Track filter, it selects lap data from a different track recorded 3 months ago. Is there a way of exporting select track/days/sessions, or the only option is to export the most recent session? It seems Track selection is broken anyway.

While in Lap List, the track context is the current track. So selecting Export here, will export all laps of the current track. The current track is switched by LapTimer automatically when passing a track's trigger, but you can change it manually too. E.g. in Timer view, press the small wrench in the top right.

To export a specific track's laps, select any lap of this track in Lap List and press Export here. In this case Track has the lap context and will ignore the current track.

For the current version, chances are small to find broken functions. ;-) The next major release will add some opportunity again :-D

New Question on this thread.
SOFTWARE
Product: Harry's LapTimer - Features: Petrolhead Edition, Grand Prix Edition
Version: v18.3.7 Grand Prix Edition - Build: Nov 9 2014, 13:36:58

SYSTEM
Device: iPhone - Model: iPhone 6 Plus
OS: iPhone OS 8.1.2 - Databases: G65L66V67P60
Available memory: 98.3 GB - GPS: Internal

I have LAPS:386 and GPS FIXES: 425573 with the application showing it is using 6.6G of space (NOT SURE WHY SO MUCH) but there are no videos within the app just one video I shot at 43 seconds the other day that is in the camera roll.

I am trying to export lap data ALL. When I select mail it exports to a normal mail message, I put in addressee and press send. I hear the normal send message tone but nothing ever is delivered? Why?

I then just sent the hlptrl in one message and the CSV in another and it send and was received, however, when sending the mL file it fails to ever be received. Why?

FINAL NOTE: I just closed and re opened HLT and the app when from 6G to 461MB but the same situation occurred as above with exporting.

Size problem. The memory shown as used probably includes uncompressed temporary files. When restarting LapTimer, temp space is cleaned up.

I assume that mail isn't able to handle the amount of data send. Especially kml is getting huge when exporting too much at a time.

The last export on 14OCT2014, the hlptrl was just 12MB now it is 20.7MB the difference between sizes was one other event representing 79 of the 386 laps done. Is there a workaround to export 'ALL" as you are correct my google mail limits file attachments to 25MB. Also I tried dropbox too and it seems to create file but fails to upload.

.hlptrl exports are compressed when sent by mail and are the most size efficient approach. Exports to Dropbox are not compressed and will fail fast due to the amount of data produced. I plan to change this in the future. Exporting one type at a time will create mails with just one attachments, so exporting types individually keeps the size smaller. Another option is to export data track by track - not nice but probably the best approach to cut things in pieces without adding too much complexity to the export file maintenance.

If everything else fails, you may export the full scope to .hlptrl (and let it fail). Now, install iBrowse to your desktop and copy the raw export files from LapTimer's temp folder. They will come with extension .hlptrl.gz (which is the same as .hlptrz).

New question on this thread: I am exporting data only (no video) to an external program to merge a custom dashboard and GoPro video. I have an OBDII link which is recording data every 0.1 sec, but my iPhone 6 GPS records every 1 sec and so the data export is only every 1 sec, which just isn't enough data to get a smooth video + dashboard integration. Is there a way to get all the data and not be limited by my GPS resolution/sampling? Is there a way to increase the resolution/sampling on my GPS to get more points?
