Import MoTec files

Hi Harry,

import feature for MoTec i2 Pro files would be a great addition for HLT - this would also expand the field of application for HLT to virtual reality, as it would be possible to analyse virtual telemetry data from Gran Turismo 6 (PS3) with HLT.

The MoTec format is not a public format. Maybe you want to forward a GT6 sample file to me so I can check if it complicated to add an import.

OK, I will send you example data from GT6. By the way, there are some more PC simulations out there that are able to log in the MoTec format. like GTR2, GTR Evo, rfactor 1 & 2, iRacing, Assetto Corsa).

For GTR2, GTR Evo, rfactor 1 & 2, iRacing and Assetto Corsa, there are also Android apps on the market that can stream laptime and OBD data online from PC via Wi-Fi to a mobile device, so that the mobile acts as a virtual dashboard. Maybe you could consider a similar option to HLT and open up your software to laptiming for the virtual racing community as well?

This is what I had emailed you some days ago (SLS GT3 log file)...just in case you think this is something else.

Yes, I thought there is a special GT6 format I can use. From the data schluerfi sent, I have seen GT6 exports .ld/.ldx pairs just like the ones you sent. I have done more research on the file format but haven't found anything I can use. MoTec (as a hardware manufacturer) takes care the format is not used by competitors (which is understandable) and requires a licensing to write the format. GT6 does not compete, so they seem to cooperate. The MoTec provided API is COM based in addition (i.e. evil stuff :-D ), so no option for a LapTimer integration.
