Apologies if this has been answered. I've searched and can't find it.

I use an external GPS (dual) If I start HLT and then turn the phone off (screen off) and then put it in my pocket will HLT continue to record?

Many Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan,

LapTimer will go to sleep too and will not record data. You can dim the screen to save battery but need to keep the app active. Please to not store the phone in your pockets while driving but use a glovebox or mount. In case of a crash you can hurt yourself seriously having a hard phone in your pockets .

One of the advantages of an external GPS module is that it's no longer necessary to mount the phone with a clear view of the sky if you're not doing video. If a window mount is distracting, you can mount it on the dash or somewhere below the window level. A solid mount is necessary to get accurate acceleration readings.

Buy a 2m lead and twin cigaret charger and keep everything plugged in.

A bit of electrical tape keeps it all in place
