100-200 kph

I'd like to add the "100-200" kph measurement to the wishlist of "0-100" ..

..easier to measure, no clutches burned, relatively independent of driver skills :D

I know it's not 100% precise as to the low GPS refresh rate, but still - not a big deal to implement, is it?

(Don't want to spend 500 EUR on a Performance Box honestly)

Hi Ray,

That's on my list - for sure. I cannot give you a schedule however, as I have even more requested features included in v15 already. You may check this BMW M app that is for free and does something like this. LapTimer will have this in the future.

I will post the roadmap for v15 in the next days.

Hi Harry!

All my friend and myself are waiting for an application that can handle this 100 - 200 kmh!
I am using Laptimer for round about 2 years, best application on the iphone! Great Work!

I believe Pocketdyno+ and dynolicious can do it. I have both of them but never tried more than 130 kph

Bump this topic as we now have the VBOX Sport available with 20Hz which is twice as fast/accurate as the Performance Box. Racelogic provides an iPhone app themselves which leaves a lot out and nothing beats the development and support of Harry. Maybe an idea to make an independant Harry's Performance App?! I would buy the VBOX and the App! =)
There are a lot of people enjoying straight line racing (eventhough we know better) which could also benefit greatly from the experience gathered from HLT development.

So why isn't it in Laptimer and the VBOX App as well?

100-200 kph seems a bit high. For one thing, aerodynamic drag will be huge, ~8x higher at 200 kph than at 100 kph. So large, in fact, that it's likely a lot of cars won't reach 200 kph on the straights of most race tracks. Most of us don't live in areas where there are highways with no speed limit so a 100-200 kph run shouldn't be made on a public road. And then there's wind.... Why not 20-100 or whatever your speed range in second gear. For 100-200, you don't need a high update rate because the acceleration is going to be a lot lower. You need high update rate for a low gear because you spend so little time in it.

It's also not difficult to do by using manual timing and exporting the data to a spreadsheet.
