Cannot open HLT 18.3.0 on original iPad

I downloaded HLT 18.3.0 on my original iPad running IOS 5.1.1 (the latest OS for the original iPad) and when I try to open HLT, the Start Your Engines screen appears for about 2 seconds and then I'm returned to the home screen. The app never opens. I had no problem with opening any of the prior versions of HLT. Any suggestions? Thanks.

There is at least one issue with the Timer view that crashes LapTimer on iOS5 devices. I will submit the next bugfix release soon, sorry for the inconvenience. Please keep in mind I will need to remove iOS5 and iOS6 support in the near future - latest with the next Spring release. Maintaining 5/6/7/8 versions is simply too complicated and keeps me from moving to new functions.

Is there a way to install a prior version? Also, once you no longer support iOS5, please be sure that the new unsupported version will not install on an iOS5 device. (By the way, I have purchased separate HLT versions for each of my iPod3, iPod5 and original iPad. I'm a big fan and truly appreciate your work.)

To my knowledge (I'm not sure, maybe someone else knows more) loading older app versions is possible if the current app version has a higher iOS version requirement than your device comes with. So as long as the current version 18.3 supports iOS5.1, you cannot load an older version. This changes once 19.0 is marked as a iOS7 or higher app... So no workaround currently, sorry. But as I see, you have lots of options.
I will try to get 18.4 out soon.

Apple installs the latest compatible version.
If you have the old version then you could delete the current app from iTunes folder and put the old one in and then double click it, it will open in iTunes and then on the ipad without HLT on sync it back on.
No other legal way.
