I am having some troubles with one of my race videos. I used a GoPro for external video and imported it back into my phone to use as the main video and overlay it with the data.
The race had 19 laps and all laps are there and in one single session. I have associated the video with one of the laps and 16 or 19 laps have the external video. For some reason, the last 3 laps do not have the video linked to them. I noticed that the iPhone internal video was also missing for these three laps.
Is there a way to force all 19 laps to use the same external video (which was recorded while controlled by Laptimer) so that the last three are not video-less?

Does the external (iPhone) actually include the 3 laps? If not, video recording has probably be stopped during lap #16. Reasons can be a low memory condition on the iPhone side (as an example). When associating a video to a lap, you specify the position this lap ends in the video. LapTimer iterates through all laps ahead and behind the lap selected if they belong to the same session. LapTimer calculates the offset of all these laps by using the lap times included and the lap you have assigned manually. In case these lap's end is included in the video (i.e. the offset is not negative and not behind the video duration), they are associated just like the lap you associated manually.

So there are actually two things to check
a) is the video short in general -> no chance to cover the three last laps
b) does the lap you associated manually point to correct frame in the video or to a wrong lap -> repeat the sync point definition

Yes, the external video has all the laps plug the pit entry etc.

What I did is manually edit the first last (#140) that did not have any video associated with it, manually added the external video to it and set the approximate end point of that lap. Laptimer then asked me if I wanted to do this for all the laps in the session and I clicked yes. To my surprise, all laps (all 19) were then re-linked to the external video, for a total of 19 laps.
So, on done hand, that fixed the problem. On the other hand, this means that laps 1 through 16 were re-linked using my approximate endpoint of lap 17 (#140 on my phone).

So what happened is, to summarize: when the phone did not record the last three laps (17,18,19), but the external camera recorded properly and was stopped by lap timer when I stopped lap timer, as it should. I converted and uploaded the whole external video (with all 19 laps) and linked it to lap 1. Lap timer linked laps 1 through 16 and ignored the last 3 laps (17,18,19).
Overlaying worked but produced a video truncated at the end of lap 16.
Manually linking lap 17 to video and setting the end point manually overwrote everything an this time all 19 laps were linked.

Does this make sense? I think that there is a small bug somewhere where the lack of internal iPhone video (not sure why that happened) caused lap timer to not link all the laps in the session to the video. I probably understand why as lap timer probably assumed that the external video ended at the same time as the internal one. But what is strange is that the original overlay of lap 1-16 was ok and not out of sync or anything, so the end point was properly taken from the end of the session, i.e. end of lap 19.

p.s.: I still find the little buttons to move to the previous and next laps when editing things really hard to press properly. It is a hit and miss . I am also having a really hard time properly selected multiple laps when doing the overlay and I must be doing something wrong

I take it back... I re-overlaid all 19 laps and lap timer shows a video icon next to all of them but only the first 16 laps were overlaid, even though lap 17 18 and 19 show a video, that video stops.
I had version of one lap overlaid videos that I created before attempting to re-overlay all 19 laps at once so I am ok and can get over this problem for now

You have actually two video associated to laps - the GoPro and the internal. The GoPro comes with 19 laps while the internal video comes with 16 laps. Data recordings are available for 19 laps. LapTimer always uses the master video of the lap you assign a video to or change the sync point. So if the lap (say #140) has no video assigned at all and you assign the GoPro video, LapTimer will be able to add the video to all 19 laps. This is because you have 19 continuous data recordings and all of them are covered by the new master video (GoPro). It is a different story when adding the GoPro video to a lap that has the internal video assign already. Adding the GoPro video here means adding it as a second PiP video. Nevertheless, the alignment will use the master video (internal) - which is short - and change the 16 laps covered only.

So to me it seems this is pretty much "works as designed". It is probably not intuitive in your situation and it would probably make sense to add another user interaction asking if the new video assigned should be Master or PiP... This on the other hand is another interaction for all users with two video in sync - and probably poor design.

For you situation I'd recommend to browse through all 19 laps and check if the video are in the right Master / PiP order. This will probably fix the overlay stopping after lap 16 too.

On the other stuff: yes, the small buttons are small. I tested bigger ones and they where ugly. As an alternative, swipe horizontally across any row not allowing a swipe delete - e.g. the section headers. This will iterate through laps too. Multi Lap selection should actually be easy. Please "touch to extend" and do not drag the range. So if you have lap 1 selected and you see 18 more unselected laps to the right. Touch the last one and LapTimer will extend the range from 1 to 19.
