Laptimer stops after 1 lap

I am running the certified Buttonwillow BW#13 CCW configuration on an iPhone 4S with 16GB RAM and not much else. I also have a Go Pro Black Edition with 16GB Sandisk Extreme Pro memory cards. I set the iPhone to the same network as the camera.
Turned on the Go Pro Bluetooth by pushing the side button. Clicked on 'Start Driving' on the Guide screen. Clicked on the Video button, and got a message that Video recording will start automatically when Start/Finish is passed. Pressed the Record Auto button and left the garage for the track.
I pulled onto the hot pit lane (parallel to the start/finish line, and waited for the signal to go for the warmup lap. Entered the track, took 1 lap, and now on the main grid. Took the starter flag, ran 6 laps plus cool-down lap, and back to the pits.
When I got there I found the laptimer application had stopped after the initial warmup lap. Only the warmup lap was recorded...no evidence of any other laps recorded. The video ran for the full session. Created 2 files, with max size of 3.8 GB. I assume that if I reduced the video resolution on the Go Pro that it will run longer before launching a second file?
Anyway, I had essentially done the same routine during practice, and got multiple laps recorded without issue. Any idea why the application would stop and only record 1 lap?
