I just upgraded to the Petrolhead version on my android galaxy S3. I also recently purchased a wifi back pac. My intention is to use my S3 as my forward facing camera and mount my go pro on the trunk as rear facing camera. I know there is no currently no multicam app for android however figure I can sync the front and rear videos manually. then overlay the rear video on a portion of the front video. I watched the video on the wifi and lap timer and it synced up perfectly, this was with the iphone however. However I cannot get laptimer to recognize my wifi on my hero 2. I would like to start the videos at the same time with one push of a button. However at this point I have to use the Go Pro app to manually start the Go Pro camera then exit the app and switch to lap timer to start the forward facing camera. Just checking to see if i'm doing something wrong or it's just a current compatibility problem

As you wrote, Petrolhead has no MultiCam support built in. This means neither automatic nor manual starting the GoPro is supported from within the app. Picture in Picture videos do not work either with the current version and will be introduced with GP. The later feature will go into Petrolhead too, but just for manual addition of footage.

Currently, you need to start the GoPro video manually. You can do that when entering the car just before you leave the pits. LapTimer itself can be operated in pure Lap Timer mode or with an additional internal video. Once you are done with the recording, transfer the GoPro video and add it to the laps you want to overlay. Take care to use a compatible video format. Currently, HD only is recommended to get acceptable overlaying times and stay within the 2 GB video size limit.
