Batch processing for video overlaying

Hi Harry,

I'm a new customer. I used your Petrolhead Android version this weekend at autocross and really enjoyed it.

I have a few questions.

1) I saw in a post from 2013 that you expected to have batch overlay in V18. Did that feature make it in? I am trying to start the overlay process for each of my 7 runs as a batch, but cannot find a way to do so.

2) I have tried two different bluetooth OBDII devices but both result in very laggy data being reported when I do the video overlays. Do you have a fast OBDII device you recommend for Android users?

3) Is the picture in picture using a reference video not available in the petrolhead version? I can select "reference video" in the overlay prompt, but I never end up with a reference video in my actual overlay.

4) Is there a way to have the timer stop at the GPS tagged finish line but have the video continue for another nn seconds and then automatically stop? It would be very nice to capture the commentary from just after each autocross run.

Thanks for making such a wonderful product and thanks for your great support of it!

Hi,

1) Multi lap overlaying is supported since v18. Currently, there are no plans to provide a multi session process in addition. To overlay multiple laps, select one and extend the scope within Overlay Configuration.
2) I have added several OBD tweaks to the last release (18.0.22). But before applying them, please follow the description here to better understand what the problem is: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1500
3) That's actually a GrandPrix feature and not yet available (but prepared in the GUI already)
4) Please check the "Mixed Mode" operation described in http://www.gps-laptimer.com/LapTimerDoc ... hapter.pdf You will basically start and stop video recording manually - which gives you extra footage before and after the laps to overlay. Use the Intro and Extro sliders in Overlay Configuration to extent the overlaid video beyond the lap range.

Hi Harry, I am still somewhat confused about multi-lap versus multi-session video overlaying. If I have several autocross videos, one video per run/lap, is it possible to batch the overlay jobs up or will I need to start them manually one at a time?

LapTimer considers a continuous number of laps (driven with a stop/go trigger, so a finished lap immediately is followed by another lap) a "session". For these sessions, one will typically have 1 raw session video with several laps. LapTimer v18 overlays the full range or a portion of these laps in one run. In case the number of laps is bigger than one, it is named a "multi-lap" overlay.

"Multi-session" is not supported currently, you need to overlay them one by one.
