Hello everybody,

This is just to let you know that the roqyBT4 people have a prototype up and running that connects ELM327 based Bluetooth OBDs to LapTimer. :)

Thanks Harry for this update and support !!

The target is the end of the month for a new version of roqyBT to support OBD bluetooth keys

I've been able to pair 3 devices with the beta version:
  • * Cheap eBay elm327 bluetooth obd (PIN code 1234)
  • * Kiwi PLX bluetooth (PIN code 1234)
  • * OBDKey (PIN code 0000)
With any bluetooth OBD devices, roqyBT is able to create a custom OBD server at 127.0.0.1, port 35000 where Harry Laptimer app (to be released soon) gets its data (engine RPM) etc.

Stay tuned !!

Hi,
It's now live from Cydia, you can download roqyBT4 1.2.0 and roqyOBD4 1.0.0 addon to pair any bluetooth OBD sensor and use Harry Laptimer compatible app with it !!

Enjoy,

Roqy

Just to not disappoint someone... Roqy uses a special v14 of LapTimer. The connection will work with LapTimer production versions starting at 14.1. So please be patient!

Can you please give some more information on which kind of bluetooth OBD sensors will work? Only ELM 327 based ones? Please take a look at these:

http://www.apos-gmbh.de/OBD/Hardware/

They look pretty good and are very small. I'm particularly interested in "BT OBD W3". This one is ELM 327 compatible but also support older non OBD 2 protocols like KWP1281 and KWP2000. I know...I don' t get tired of looking for a way to get OBD in older cars...but could this be a possibility?
Here's the general Info and the manual (both german):

Hi,
It's more a question to be answered by Harry.
From roqyBT side, the app is more like a bluetooth tunnel for any OBD device. If the final app (Laptimer) is compatible with the device protocol, it could work. I only tested the set of 3 common devices.
