What does it mean & how do I fix:

At the top a camera icon with red x on it?

This means you have a cam but it is not active currently. That's o.k. When entering the Video View, it will get white, when recording starts it well be white with a red dot. Once background recording is active again, the icon will be used to show the status of the cam running in background.
