Incoming Phone Call Interruption Of Timing & Video

I am using an IPhone 4S 6.1 with the latest version of HLT software. How do I keep incoming phone calls from interrupting my lap & video? :?: Do not disturb only seems to work when the phone is locked, however, the software keeps it from locking?

Forward incoming calls to your mailbox, or remove the SIM card. In case you use an external GPS, it seems you can turn on flight mode and enable Bluetooth (for the mouse) as a last alternative.
