I'd like to accomplish the following - use my iPhone with Harry's lap timer as a live display lap times and comparison to the reference lap, and use either iPod or GoPro Hero 2 with wifi for recording the main video (because the iPhone used for timer display will be not well positioned for recording video).

So, just to clarify - two devices, one in front of me with camera blocked (or it can record me on a front-facing camera), another in the position that's great for main video recording and recording the main track video. As a result, I'd like to get 1) accurate live lap timing display on the device in front of me; 2) data-overlayed video from the other device. Is it possible to get this working? Would it be easier to accomplish with gopro or ipod?Also, my iPhone has much less free memory than Ipod or gopro, and I'd rather not buy another phone. My ODB adapter is connected to iphone via Wifi, so would I need a bluetooth ODB if I use gopro with wifi?

I read the section on video, but could not figure that out. Appreciate any help.

Yes, that mostly works. Using LapTimer GP, you enable MultiCam and connect the iPod by installing the MultiCam app. Next, switch to Timer View and select Video. You should get a live preview of the iPod after some seconds. Now, press "Auto Record". This closes the video view with video recording in background. Once the recording is done and the iPod video is transferred, select the lap you want to overlay and exchange the Master and PIP video( Edit + dragging the vid rows). Overlay as usual and you are done. Details on MultiCam are available on www.gps-laptimer.de

A wifi OBD plus GoPro do not work (the new OBDlink MX will allow that, but it is not available yet). BT OBDs are not available currently (GoPoint is in transition).

I tried that, and could not understand how to get the video from the secondary device into the main one. So I thought of another solution - install HLT on both devices and just use them independently. Only one needs to be recording video anyway, and the other just displays the lap times. Both connect to the Dual GPS via bluetooth. Seems to make sense to me - am I missing anything?

That approach works too but will not allow you to use PiP videos. However, the process using MultiCam should be described pretty clear in http://www.gps-laptimer.com/LapTimerDoc ... hapter.pdf I have never tested if bandwidth is fine when connecting two iPhones to the XGPS160 at a time, please let us know once you have tested that.
