What are you using?

Post by leecavturbo »

Model:
Is data consistent and undelayed when displayed on a device?
I ask as most the videos I have seen the data is not sync'd in time with the video/sound.
I wonder where the sync error happens? Slow Bt data, slow device display or app failing to sync?

Sensors (GPS, acceleration, OBD) and video do not come with a common time stamp. This means LapTimer needs to align all these inputs based on what it knows about the sensor and some heuristics. The standard setting will give a good result for most users. For non standard sensor configurations, or if one wants to improve timing, the sensor specific delay between time a event occurs in reality, and the time the data is received by LapTimer can be configured in LapTimer's Expert Settings. Please note this is a complex topic and changing the delay will often degrade quality instead of the opposite. Search the forum here for "sensor delay" and you will find plenty of discussions and explanations. ;-)
