Samsung Galaxy S GT19000 with Android 4.3 Jelly bean

Post by 205-16v »

Hi all,

Im trying to get a set-up working in my sprint car, I have the GoPro hero 3 black, the external XGPS 150 GPS receiver, no obd2 as its an old Peugeot 205 GTI on twin 45 webers so its not got an ECU :-)

I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT19000 which I can load Android 4.3 Jelly bean

Will this work and allow video sync with the GoPro?

My only other option is to steal the wife's iPhone 4, but then I'm going to have to buy her an iPhone 5 :-(

Thanks

Dan

Hi,

Currently you need to either get a thief or buy an iPhone5 for yourself :-) The Android version will be available as Petrolhead edition (i.e. Including video recording) in March. The current version is lap timing only (Rookie). The Grand Prix Edition will get available later in 2014 and will remote control GoPros etc - at least that's the plan.

Thanks Harry, looks like its going to be the iPhone then!

If I use the 32GB iPhone 4 (is just a 4 not an s), will this be up to the job of doing video overlays from the GoPro and PIP? most of the videos will be from sprints, which are only 2 minutes long, so its not hours of video.

Thanks

The iPhone4 had a HD cam (not FullHD) and will probably not overlay FullHD footage from other sources either. For HD videos (i.e. 720 lines), it will work just fine.
