How to Load Autocross Track?

Post by boony1968 »

I bought the app for autocross use and have an event Sunday. I setup a track through my neighborhood to try it out. Did a setup run, then a 2nd everything worked fine. Left the app, used the phone, went back into it and can't load my created track again.

It appears on the lap list but not in the track list so I can't reload it. What am I missing, or what did I do wrong.

Using up to date Android software on Samsung Note 2.

Thanks.

The Add-ons list shows the track sets available on LapTimer's server. These are the tracks of general interest, they are submitted to me using a certification process, and are uploaded to the server afterwards. AX tracks are usually local tracks and stay on your device. As long as you see the track in Lap List with a row showing "POIs+Triggers", the track defined is available and active.

As written above, "As long as you see the track in Lap List with a row showing "POIs+Triggers", the track defined is available and active." This means there is no need to "load it to use". As long as the triggers are on the device, they will fire once you pass them.

If it's in the lap list, it's already loaded. You should be able to drive around the next day and have the lap recorded. The real problem with autocross is that often they're at the same venue with different starting and finishing locations and a different course layout. You have to remove all the POI's from an older course from memory and set new ones. If you want to save an old course and data, you need to create an .hlptrl file and mail it to yourself before purging the old data. You then can reload by opening the email on your device and tapping on the file name. You can also 'certify' the track layout by emailing the certification data to yourself instead of to Harry.
