Hi,
my first message in this forum. Laptimer is really great on track and i would like to thank Harry for his work.
I just wanted to know if Laptimer would have a compatibility with the new Pioneer Appradio which offers great features for the iphone 4's users ?

Thanks.
LapTimer currently sends a splash screen to any externally connected screen. This was more a feature test than something useful.
As only a very small number of users will use LapTimer with such an external device, I did not give this priority so far - missing business case.

Harry - I've been following your app from a distance for some time now and am very intrigued by the possibility of this feature (so much so, that I created an account to make sure I shared this with you.)
Sorry for replying to such an old post. Is this still your stance on this feature? It's addition would definitely push me into ordering both your app and a vbox sport. This feature is included with almost all of pioneers head unitsfor 2013 (even some sub $300 units), and they are offering development assistance to any dev who wishes to add this functionality to their app.
Here's a video where some Pioneer reps talk about one of their new AppRadio headunits, as well as their desire to add more apps with AppRadio support and have even setup a website/support chain to assist developers with this feature.

Here's their dev website:

Also, i should note that I have no affiliation with Pioneer, just simply an enthusiast who would love to have this functionality added.

I had several discussions with Pioneer on supporting their displays. They have a developer program in place and allow integration. Furthermore, LapTimer would certainly be a good match for this in car integration. But - the overall process is not of the kind they could convince me to support so far. Despite the in-transparent business case (LapTimer is not strongly commercially driven, but I need to weight user benefit and demand against time available), my biggest issue is they want to get into the approval process ahead of submission to Apple. Although I accept they want to take care screen design matches in car usability, I'm not willing to defer app submissions simply because Pioneer wants to have a week (or more?, there are no commitments) to approve changes. Apple's review process is the max I'm willing to accept. You know I'm enthusiastic about integrating LapTimer to everything

, in this case I hope to have your understanding I will wait until it gets more attractive.

P.S. Their conditions improved over time, so maybe there is a chance they will change again...

Totally understandable and appreciate the detailed response. You've just earned a new customer, appradio support or not!
Thanks again, Harry!
