I'm using an iphone 4 on the dash, front facing cam to shoot myself and my passanger, HD Hero 3 on the roof.

I can import the go pro footage onto the iphone no problem, I want the go pro as master and the iphone as pip, set it all up in the app, go to overlay, it says 1 pip included, hit the overlay button and I get a "Lap has picture in picture videos assigned currently not available. Please check Video List for alternatives or download" error?

OK or ignore!

agh! help

Two items: 1) LapTimer will have the iPhone video as Master and the GoPro as PiP initially. Switch them by pressing "Edit" in the to be overlaid lap and drag the videos into the right order. 2) Assuming you still had the GoPro video in PiP position when you got the message, you maybe have not tagged the GoPro video correctly. Please check the http://www.gps-laptimer.com/LapTimerDoc ... hapter.pdf for a step by step description. You can verify the video is tagged by entering "Video List", select the GoPro video and check the "Metadata" entry shown in the bottom.

I can use the go pro footage as the main no problem, it's overlaying anything to it as a pip, I think I must have messed the go pro file up somehow.

Thankfully I'm just testing pre track!

*edit, I just noticed the "link" on the go pro footage is like 00-000-000-0069 rather than a mix of letters and numbers

That's ok. You enter a MultiCam link including the MultiCam ID. In LapTimer, you see the ID only.

I can overlay speed data etc.

I'm I making a simple mistake?

Cheers

Can you please tell me what the video links in the lap's details show? Please select the lap from Lap List and scroll down to the Video section. Here, you see the list of videos (starting with "Master"). What do you see here? Please send the list plus what you see as thumbnail as well as the white text in the bottom left of the thumbnail. Thanks.

Sure thing, I just recreated the issue 2 times more.

Last time I did the following :

Video of me walking through my kitchen, iphone with facing camera on, HD hero 3 facing forwards.

Applied the meta Muz-1F010ACE-GP to the footage while still on the go pro.

Convertedthe footage to an iphone compatible mp4 with handbrake

Synched the video to the iphone

Went to the lap in laptimer, swapped the view of myself from master to pip, and overlayed, the result is no pip

Reverted

Set the video of myself as master and the go pro footage as pip, overlayed fine

The link of iphone footage is LapTimerCapture-201307-15-194225.mov, metadata is none
The link of the go pro footage is 00000000-0000-0000-0000-00000000006A, metadata is ID: Muz-1F010ACE-GP (as inputted via vlc earlier)

O.k., what is the exact wording of the message you get? Is it "Lap has picture in picture videos assigned not available currently. Please check Video List for alternatives or download."

Ahhh, I may have deleted the original videos, I no longer get the message, I just can't overlay any pip over the gopro

So what does "can't overlay any pip over the gopro" mean? No message but it does not appear in the overlaid result? Do you see the PiP video in Lap Details and can play it? Which format has your GoPro video (resolution)?
