Single Lap Videos

Post by gtncpa »

For the life of me I can't figure this out. I would like to get one continuous video of my session on the race track. Instead I get a separate video for each lap. I know this is a stupid question  ... but what am I doing wrong?

Nothing, that is not supported currently. Please try the search function here on the forum and you will find the feature request ;-)

My old version would record me entire session. So the newest version does not?

No "old" version of LapTimer did overlay sessions. LapTimer records session videos, but overlays are by lap only.

I hear what you are saying, but how did my friend do this video below. We were on track together and he recorded it on his iPhone.

Well, he simply overlayed lap by lap and then used an editimg tool to merge them. You can hear the small audio gap. I still would go for exporting data as CSV and overlaying on your PC / Mac with Dashware, Trackvision or Racerender for a full session.

I am trying to avoid spending $1,500 a data acquisition set up. I would love it if Harry's did it all! At the price it is still a great product.

I was the white Mustang in the video. After the session we spoke and he said the video had to do the overlay. I am pretty sure it all happened on the iPhone. I saw the results an hour or so later.

Single Lap Videos

Post by bulls23 »

Just trying to help and to avoid misunderstandings...lots of users have asked for this function since the video option has been part of HLT and Harry has it on his list. Do you really not see the gap between the laps? I've seen other videos of users merging laps and depending on the used editor you almost can't tell the laps were merged. Like I said: look for the export function and an external programm to do complete session overlays including custom gauges etc. Racerender for example is only a few bucks and has even PiP capabilities. It's just not possible on the iPhone with HLT (for now). Maybe your friend has a way to merge the videos on the phone itself, but not in HLT.
