Integrating iPad and GoPro

Post by SuperDave »

Harry,

I am running Grand Prix on my iPad, and capturing video on my GoPro (Hero 1). I'd like to be able to overlay data onto the video for improved analysis. Will the new GoPro Hero 3 with wifi provide any advantages in achieving this, or is the manual process of overlaying and synching video/data the same?

Thanks for your guidance!

Wifi enabled Gopros like the Hero 2 with the bacpack or the Hero 3 will be remote controlled by HLT Grand Prix. In addition, syncing points are stored. You still need to transfer the external Gopro videos through iCloud or iTunes though.

Yes, in short the HERO2+3 will add better video sensors. For LapTimer it is all about convenience: you can overlay any video using LapTimer. Less "convenience" means you need to start / stop the cam yourself when using a HERO1, and, more important need to manually sync data recording with the external video.
