New user here.. I'm a little confused about calibration. I've done as much reading as I can find.

I have HLT on iPhone5 in my corvette. I have a Dual XGPS. I've been experimenting making my own tracks (on the street) just to learn the software and experiment with the HW before I get to the track with it. I will be at Lime Rock in CT next week to kick off our season.

I realize that the software wants to recalibrate the accelerometer when the orientation of the phone is changed. I typically mount the phone in Landscape to my windshield with a RAM Mount. Sometimes, I take the phone out to look at data, etc (while standing still of course) and it tells me to recalibrate. I have to accept as I don't see another way out of this screen. When I set the phone back in the landscape mount, it wants to recalibrate again.... but now, the Acceleration option is not available under MORE (when in Landscape).

1. Why is the Acceleration not available in Landscape?
2. How can I start a Recalibration of the Accelerometer in Landscape?

I know there must be an easy answer to this, but I can't find it.

Also, when I carefully calibrated the device mounted in my car, straight line acceleration still shows down and the the right on the acceleration circles?? Not sure why on this either.

Hi,

The acceleration view is available in portrait only. Actually you should not need it to recalibrate... Example: you browsed in portrait and want to go on track again. Turn the phone to landscape and put it into your mount. Do not press the alert until you are ready, but confirm once you are done.

There are several ways to force a recalibration besides this. One is the acceleration view. In Video View, you may press the acceleration circle to restart a calibration. In other views, press the Last Max G gadget to recalibrate.

The last step in calibration is performed on track. To calibrate yaw, you need to drive straight an accelerate / decelerate pretty hard. Harder than you should on public roads. So once the initial step of calibration is done (stand still to neutralize gravity) you can savely start.

Why do you not show the Acceleration option when in landscape?? Curious...

For the same reason I have not implemented another 100 requests Each feature is work to do, and I need to balance the limited time I have.
