Overlay Crashes

I've got 47 laps recorded from a session yesterday. I've been processing overlays for the laps and it started well. I was doing a session at a time. Each session is between 3 and 7 laps. When I got to around the 3rd session HLT was crashing after overlaying a the first few laps. After the crash the laps in the session which I had already successfully overlaid showed as raw again. However, the overlaid video was in the camera roll and I was able to copy it to the PC. I'm now overlaying two at a time and then copying the video to the PC as I'm sure it will crash again. Any thoughts?

Also, from lap 32 onwards there is no accelerometer data in the overlay yet the GPS data seems to be valid as the trace round the track is working.

I've emailed the crash logs to you. No plist files found though.

Thanks, that's helpful. Did you have reference videos included when overlays crashing? The problem might be related to this. The reason the links for the already overlaid videos vanished after the crash is the new links between lap and videos have not been save when LT crashed. You can force a save by simple pressing Home and pull LT to the front again afterwards.

I had reference videos in the second session but not the third. I think the crashes started during the third session overlays. This is my first use on the track. I was using locked focus and stabilisation and this is perhaps not optimal. I think the video quality is not what is expected from an iPhone 5. Could you have a look and see if you agree with me? From the posted lap are the corner and straight max speed displays working as you would expect?

Finally I think the real time speed is under reading? Is this possible when using OBD?

Hi,

Bad weather / no sun, this makes videos a lot less attractive. Cams need light, if that is missing, results are a clearly what you get on bright days. The video actually looks good from my PoV, try again on a sunny day and you will be really happy. On speed: LapTimer displays what your car's sensors deliver. Usually OBD speed values are a little below what you see on your dash. In case the sensor is misadjusted, you can certainly get wrong values from OBD too. I'd suggest to "calibrate" speed value by comparing GPS and OBD speed during a highway drive with constant speed. In case OBD is below GPS, adjust the Speed Multiplier Expert Setting LapTimer provides in the OBD Tweaks section.

I've sent the data from two laps, one has no accelerometer data but both seem to have GPS data. Any idea what may have caused the loss of the accelerometer data? The last time this happened the GPS signal had been lost but this time it appears to be there.

Some of my laps no longer have the "Revert" option. I have deleted some "laps" which were not actual laps but short clips recorded as we came into the pits and passed the start/stop trigger then manually stopped the recording. Could this have caused the loss of the "Revert" feature and if so, should this happen?

Revert is available as long as the corresponding raw videos are not deleted. Once you delete them, Revert will vanish.

That's it. I forgot that the raw video is for the full session, not each lap. When I deleted the pit lane "laps" I should have left the video.

I think have found the problem. The frequency of the crash depends on some timing effects, so most of the time it works, but sometimes not. I will do some further testing and submit 17.0.5 to AppStore afterwards.
