Problem for Harrys Lap timer to connect to PLX device iP4

Hi Harry.
I have a KiWi Wifi and it used to work with my iPhone 4. I have iOS V6.1.3 and my phone finds the plx device. The laptimer does not find KiWi WiFi
When I try with my iPhone 5 it all works :D
The plan was to use the iPhone 4 as a dedicated Harry's Laptimer tool and I have the TomTom handle which it finds and work great with.

Any suggestions to what could be the problem?

All the best

Please check the differences: iOS version, wifi settings
When you say "laptimer does not find..." - is the wifi connection established at this time?

Hi Harry,
My iPhone finds KiWi WiFi under Wi Fi and connects but when I go to OBD sensors HLP can not connect, it is searching but not connecting. I have iOS 6.1.3 and HLP Grand Prix Edition v17.0.4.

On the KiWi WiFi there is a green light "Link" which is flashing when I try to connect. When I use my iPhone 5 and HLP connects in the sensor list the green light stops flashing and goes green all time.

So the Kiwi is reported as Connected in Sensor List but shows no data?

No.
It is connected as a WiFi device in iP4 but HLT will not find and connect to it in Sensors list.

When I use my iPhone 5 and HLP connects in the sensor list the green light stops flashing and goes green all time.
This means LapTimer makes a connection (which does not mean data is exchanged)... Please let me know what exactly the Sensor List in LapTimer is showing. No Kiwi at all, sometimes Searching, or Available?

Hi Harry,
It switches between Searching and Not Available.

It fins the TomTom GPS Car Kit GPS but as said not the KiWiWiFi OBD :(

All the best.

This means LapTimer cannot find the Kiwi using the standard IP / port addresses. The only thing I can say is please recheck your wireless settings, try Harry's GPS Buddy as an alternative, restart your iPhone, make sure you have no other devices accessing the Kiwi at the same time.

Hi Harry,
Even though my iP4 finds the plx device I can not see a IP address in the WiFi window. On my iP5 I can and it is 169.254.241.238 the mask is 255.255.0.0 !

The iOS is 6.1.3 for the iP4 and 6.1.4 for the iP5 but no update available for the iP4!

Any ideas?

These are not the wifi settings PLX recommends, this can't work!
Please configure the PLXDevices network settings as follows:
IP Address: 192.168.0.11
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Router: 192.168.0.10
In your iPhone's network settings, you need to join the plx network and set IP address, subnet mask, and router to the values named.
