Hello, I used the latest version of Laptimer over the weekend (as of 4-22-2013) and the first 10 runs or so went OK, then I went back out for two more sessions (5-10 laps for each sesson) and the first lap or two for the first session recorded, but then an error occurred. The second session (my best), only the first lap recorded... then the error occured, then only data was recorded for the remaining laps. The data looks accurate.
I did not look close at this screen until I was done for the day and realized the video was lost, or never recorded.
What happened? And most importantly, is there any way at all to recover any video? I relied 100% on this video recording, and chose not to use my real camcorder.
Other than these crashes, it seemed to work great after adjusting for overlay sync. Used it with a BT1 on a 2010 Camaro SS.
Laptimer Video Recording Crash during lap, but records data.
Re: Laptimer Video Recording Crash during lap, but records d
Hi,
Please send crash logs if available, a how-to is available here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1115
For the missing videos: please select the Video List (instead of Lap List) to check if the videos are available and miss the linking to the laps only.

Re: Laptimer Video Recording Crash during lap, but records d
Ok, thanks. Here is everything I could find on 4-21, the day of the problem. There were some other files from earlier dates that I also had random crashes, not sure if they apply.
I dont see the missing video's in the video list... they are not there.

Re: Laptimer Video Recording Crash during lap, but records d
Hi again,
Thanks for sending the logs!
One of the crash logs shows a problem with a wifi connection (has this been part of your setup?), the other happened when starting / or during a video overlay. It is well possible the former is related to the problem reported, so it would be helpful to understand if LapTimer maybe found a wifi counter part around? The missing video has most probably not been recorded at all. I changed LapTimer back in v16.6 to keep footage recorded even if crashes occur. The videos may miss a valid link from a lap, but they should be around in the file system. Did you have a chance to see the Video View during this run? Did you get the blinking "o Record" symbol? And what about free storage, has there been enough?

Re: Laptimer Video Recording Crash during lap, but records d
I did have the video screen up before each session (each session was about 8-12 laps, I ran 3 sessions total). The first session worked perfectly. The last two sessions are when these errors occurred, an error popped up on the screen during the recording saying something like "There was an error". But I was driving, I tried to hit OK hoping it would continue recording... I think after this error, video recording stopped, however the video screen was still open, and eventually I noticed at least at some point that it was not recording... but the lap data was saved.
I'm connected by bluetooth, but Wifi may have been default ON, but I was not connected to anything. I tried to turn it on in airplane mode but then upon starting up Laptimer, it would say "Unable to download POI", so I turned airplane mode back off... plus the BlueTooth connection would probably also disconnect.
I did get low on free space after session 2, and I went and free's up ~8GB of space for the last session, but the video error occurred again. I also noticed I still had 7.5-8gb of free space after this session, another clue that there was not allot of video recorded.
I tried to grab a screen shot of the video while racing... but that didn't work out! I think I dialed 911 instead. haha

Re: Laptimer Video Recording Crash during lap, but records d
So the message has most probably been "Low memory, video recording stopped / disabled! Please free up space and return." In case this happens, LapTimer disables video recording until the Video View is closed and opened again (with enough memory available). I will add a reset in case the app is sent to background (and foregrounded again) in the next bugfix release 17.0.4. That's the problem with different using patterns, I always closed the Video View when I ran out of memory instead of pressing the Home button, clean up, and foreground LapTimer (in Video View) again...

Re: Laptimer Video Recording Crash during lap, but records d
I could see low memory error for session two, but for session 3 I know I had 8gb free storage space. After about 200mb I got the video error, with more than 7.5gb free space.
