Data Transfer
Data Transfer
I want to transfer lap data from my iphone ot the ipad. Do I need to install HLT on the ipad also?
Re: Data Transfer
Yes, you need to have any app on your iPad that is able to import and present LapTimer information. You may install LapTimer on your iPad and follow the description here to transfer your lap data: http://www.gps-laptimer.de/Trainer.html You do not need to use the Trainer app, that works with two LapTimer Pro apps too.

Re: Data Transfer
I used the "trainer" it imported the times, etc. but not the overlaid video... Also what is Regularity-Set Speed-Penality?
Thanks,
Thanks,
Re: Data Transfer
The device to device transfer uses Bluetooth which is by far not fast enough to transfer videos.
In case you really want to have your videos transferred, you need to transfer them to the Photo library on your iPhone, setup sync on your desktop to sync it to the PC, and sync your iPad afterwards to pull it back. This however, will break data recording / video alignment, so write down the sync point timing (check www.gps-laptimer.de/Video.html) and enter it on the iPad. As an alternative, use iExplorer to copy the videos sitting in LapTimer's Documents folder to your Desktop and move them over to the same place on the iPad afterwards.
Having all of that said, please check first if you really want to do that. Usually it is better to create overlaid video on the original device, transfer them to youtube or your desktop and remove all the footage from your iOS devices - to have space available for new videos.

Re: Data Transfer
Regularity is a basic calculation engine to derive regularity penalties. You define the "set speed" - the one you are expected to drive in average. LapTimer calculates the penalty you receive in each sector because you missed the expected sector time (calculated from sector distance plus set speed). So if you ran a sector at 01:30.00 where you were expected to finish at 1:25.00, you receive a penalty of 5 seconds. All the sectors are finally summed up.
This feature belongs to a currently incomplete regularity racing mode of LapTimer - something for specialist.

Re: Data Transfer
I finally got an iPad and installed LapTimer on it and wanted to transfer all the data (more then 300 laps on different cars, tracks and dates) from my iPhone. How to do that? Transfer via bluetooth only offers "send trackday" which is only the data from the last trackday. My last trackday has 101 laps but the import stops with "Error Transfer failred!" and then shows the first 14 laps. The Check Data detects no problems.Harry wrote:Yes, you need to have any app on your iPad that is able to import and present LapTimer information. Re: Data Transfer
Export all your laps using the standard export function available in "Lap List" (button top left). Select ".hlptrl" as the format you want and make sure you have set the scope to "All". Send the export to any email account you have available on your iPad. On your iPad, open that export email and long press the attachment. Select LapTimer for import and keep your fingers cross
Please note there is no support for video transfers available.

but unfortunately it didn't work. The import always stops with the massege "Import of file xxx failed. Data has not been added." But some laps have been added!?
Re: Data Transfer
Or how about the transfer track by track or date by date? But how do I define a day or track or session to be transfered?
