Offline maps

Post by zonagravedad »

Hi Harry!

I use an iPod Touch ( wi-fi only ), so I haven't got 3G and I can't use maps when I'm at the races.

It would be great to be able to use "offline maps" with HLT so I can download the maps around the race area ( via Google Maps, Apple Maps or some third part iOs offline maps apps like http://www.offmaps.com/ ).

It would be also great for iPhone users racing in foreign countries to avoid having to use expensive data roaming.

Thanks and keep up the good work!

Question is if that feature is so critical on track? You will use the map mainly to define track sets. This can be done from your home or office - no need to do it on track. I understand the request in principle but always need to balance the value generated and the time I need to spend. I have so many exciting features in work currently (v17 will be great :-) ) and adding offline map support will cost me a week of work I cannot spend with this stuff ;-) Let me know what you think, maybe I'm missing something...

I also would love to see this feature in the future.
It will allow to see wether the curve is well taken or not, wether there is still room for improvement in a particular turn, ...
Moreover, the lap record will be much nicer with a map background.

Thank you for the work on this very nice app anyway ;)
