Re: Support for GoPoint Tech BT1 OBD-II

I just received my GoPoint BT1 the other day, and was surprised to see a hole on top of the case, as if that's where a cord would normally run through. I checked online for pictures of the device but couldn't find any real photos. Some show with a hole, some do not. Can others here confirm that's how theirs looks?

Actual photo of mine:

Ordered BT1 from US-and-A even paying the stupid $40 postage fee and also new XGPS150E (european spec version) from UK aviation site (hope this works same as regular XGPS150!!)

Also ordered iPhone 4 Sidekic tripod mount, a windscreen suction camera mount and also an Olloclip 3-in-1 camera lens for iPhone (with wide & fisheye lens).

All comes to a lot of Euro - hope it all comes and works as expected for my trackday in October! :D

If we use the BT1 with the XGPS150 can we expect any data loss?
Not only is each device bluetooth vice cabled, but there are 2 bluetooth devices fighting for bandwidth.

I have neither at the moment, but would prefer a wireless setup for both. 1) because I don't want an OBD2 cable near my feet and 2) because I want as little attachments to my iphone as possible (slightly reduces visibility). In addition, I expect to buy the iphone 5 upon release, and with its dock connector changing neither the GL1 nor the Emprum Ultimate in their current forms will be compatible. Thank you!

Today I tested the App for the first time with BT1 adapter. At the beginning everything works out fine, but then I noticed interruptions.
Throttle and rev got dropouts for +-5 sec.
I mounted the Iphone on the passangers headset.

No it doesn't look right at all does it. At some points you can hear engine revving up and down and the display just shows needle stuck at redline?!? Then it slowly drops down to zero. :(

No chance to watch the video but dropout of 5 seconds means the devices disconnect and get connected again. I doubt this is related to the BT, but one of the general wifi problems reported. Please make sure you have the setting (including router) correct, and no other wifi devices in your car (today, you probably have to disable 4 or 5 devices :-) ).

Unfortunately I don't use my Iphone with any other devices ;). Just for BT1 and your Laptimer.
Today I wanted to reproduce the problem (the dropouts) on the same route with another vehicle, but unfortunately the app with the update 16.0.2 gave me no chance to record anything (more infos about that issue will be posted somere else, not here).

The topic with other devices was not about those connected to your iPhone, but any other device (e.g. your codrivers handy). Wireless connections are always easy to disturb...
