You need to get the gear ratios for each gear and the final drive ratio for your car in order for the gear calculations to be accurate. Google is your friend.

Those don't look right. The numbers for your car should be relatively close to the default settings for each gear. All of the ratios, with possible the exception of 6th and possible 5th gear should have values greater than 1.

Calculating the ratios gives these figures which look ballpark, 4th being nearly 1 to 1.

1st

13/40 = 0.325

2nd

19/37 = 0.514

3rd

31/43 = 0.720

4th

38/39 = 0.974

5th

38/31 = 1.225

6th

46/31 = 1.484

Final Drive

17/67 = 0.2388 =0.254

Not sure where you are getting your data from, but here are my gear ratios for a BMW E46 M3, which as I said are fairly close (within .5 or so) to HLT default values.

1st: 4.23
2nd: 2.53
3rd: 1.67
4th: 1.23
5th: 1.00
6th: .83
Final Drive: 3.62

I have two other vehicles that I tested, another BMW and a Ford SUV and all of the gear ratio values for each gear had similar values.

I've found the right figures but still not working correctly and i have issues depending on what version of HLT i use.

I am having an issue using the most current version of LapTimer pro. I am using roqybt4, with a PLX Kiwi bluetooth.

Everything is able to connect, and laptimer pro shows rpm data etc. However, after 16 updates (blue/green icon flashes), the obd data drops out for 4-5 seconds, then starts again. This cycle repeats indefinitely. DashCommand, also using roqybt4, does not experience this issue, so I have to conclude the problem is in laptimer pro.

I am trying to use the shift light, but it is currently not reliable because of this issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

I am not familiar with the PLX Kiwi device, but roqybt4 is designed to be used with non-apple certified/approved Bluetooth interface devices on a Jailbroken iPhone (such as the eBay OBD Bluetooth interfaces). IIRC, the PLX interface is Apple approved and should not need roqybt4. For that reason, roqybt4 may actually be causing your problem.

The Wifi version is Apple approved, not the Bluetooth one.

Yup, roqybt4 is required to use this device.
