Custom BT LE config
Re: Custom BT LE config
Hi,
The TONWON adapter is predefined now. Please invalidate the Custom settings so you do not run into issues from duplicate sensors.

Re: Custom BT LE config
Apologies for reviving this thread, however I am attempting to use my Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 4.0 adapter on my 2011 BMW M3 and am having issues connecting. I am getting a "Green" reading on the TONWON BTLE OBD reading, however the OBD Update Rate is Red stating "The OBD sensor does not receive data at an expected rate."Harry wrote: Wed Oct 11, 2017 12:50 pm Hi,

When reading the UUID data from the device, I get the same info as posted here:
Here’s a screenshot: https://flic.kr/p/2haexEjMateusz wrote: Tue Oct 10, 2017 7:09 pm Thank you! The new version works flawlessly. Proper settings are:
"IOS-Vlink",
service UUID: 18F0,
read Characteristic: 2AF0,
write Characteristic 2AF1.
...which is moot, as the dongle is now found automatically anyway. I've got to 7-8hz on an IOS, 09 Ford Galaxy Mk3, MultiRequests at 3 Adaptive (still have not checked adaptive timing options).
Am I doing something wrong, or is this OBD device not compatible?
Thanks in advance!
Re: Custom BT LE config
Does your iCar support the ELM327 protocol? The second version seems to, for the first gen I can’t see it. See http://www.gps-laptimer.de/compatibility/ios for compatible devices.

Yes. It states that it supports SAE J1850 PWM/VPW, ISO 9141-2, 14230-4 KWP, 15765-4 CAN, which are all supported by ELM327.Harry wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2019 7:11 am Does your iCar support the ELM327 protocol? Re: Custom BT LE config
That’s a different topic - the bus protocol used by the car. ELM327 is a protocol used to communicate between app and adapter. For LapTimer’s Custom BTLE OBD Sensors it is mandatory. To add support for another protocol, a special integration is required. LapTimer offers a developer program for this - but this requires programming skills.

Understood. It is stated by the device page that it does in fact support ELM327 here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XG ... Re: Custom BT LE config
So I should input the following values into the Custom BTLE OBD Adapter Sections?Harry wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2019 6:56 pm Then it should be possible to configure the CustomBTLE OBD sensor.
Harry
Peripheral Name: "IOS-Vlink",
service UUID: 18F0
read Characteristic: 2AF0
write Characteristic: 2AF1
Will it not run into issues from duplicate sensors since TONWON is already predefined?
Re: Custom BT LE config
I can’t comment on every sensor, I don’t know it. You can find instructions on how to setup custom sensors in section “Configuration of Custom BTLE Sensors” in http://downloads.gps-laptimer.de/LapTim ... rogram.pdf
Re: Custom BT LE config
Sensor recognition is done using the sensor name. I assume the iCar uses a different name than the TONWON.
